As a golf research and development company, we take pride in making the best equipment money can buy, and while we push the boundaries with every product, we knew we had something special in the GEN6 Driver.
We were so confident, in fact, that we issued a challenge to prove that the GEN6 Driver stands tall next to all the competition, and we were willing to bet on it.
The Challenge
Throughout August, PXG invited all golfers – fans and critics – to put their current driver to the test in a head-to-head competition against the GEN6 Driver. It was pretty straightforward. If our driver was longer or had a tighter dispersion, PXG won. If not, we handed over a $100 USD Mastercard Rewards Card. No questions asked.
“PXG has never lacked confidence, but it’s more confident in the 0311 GEN6 Driver than any other it has put out in the past, and we found out exactly why,” wrote GolfLink’s Nick Heidelberger after taking the challenge. “It’s as long as the longest drivers on the market, and more accurate. That’s a combination any golfer would happily take.”
AND THE WINNER IS…
The PXG GEN6 Driver. And it wasn’t exactly close.
A staggering 93 percent of the 2,280 challengers did not walk away $100 richer. Luckily for them, though, they found a driver that’s better than the one currently in their bag, and it’s hard to put a price on that.
“To be honest, I’m really blown away by the PXG 0311 GEN6 Driver,” said Paul Libertore with Golfer’s Authority. “After seeing the numbers, it’s clear that this driver doesn’t just meet expectations, but it sets them. I wish I had done this before I went out and bought the PING G430.”
INCREASED DISTANCE
Everyone wants to be longer off the tee, and every new driver that hits the market claims to help you do just that. We could explain the technology that went into the GEN6 Driver that generates significant face deflection to create ultra-fast ball speeds, or we can just show you the results. Among the more than 2,000 drivers put to the test, the GEN6 averaged an additional 8.6 yards in total distance. The average distance with the PXG was 242 yards as compared to 234 yards with competitor drivers.
TIGHTER DISPERSION
But, what’s distance without accuray?
Not only is the GEN6 Driver engineered for outstanding distance, it also delivers incredible forgiveness and tight dispersion. On average, the more than 2,000 challengers saw a dispersion pattern of 33-feet, seven-inches when swinging the GEN6 compared to 48-feet, one-inch with their current gamers. Getting properly fitted is one of the best things you can do for accuracy off the tee, and the tall/deep clubface of the GEN6 is designed to support excellent mishit performance, especially on higher face impacts.
KHANG AND THE GEN6 WIN ON TOUR
From beginners to best in the game, PXG designs clubs for every player, and the incredible results for the GEN6 Driver go beyond the hitting bay. With her 9-degree GEN6 Driver in the bag, PXG LPGA Tour Professional Megan Khang, claimed her first professional win at the CPKC Women’s Open in late August. She’ll continue the momentum and make her third Solheim Cup appearance this month after claiming 10 top-10 finishes during the qualifying period.
