Your putter is the most used club in your bag, yet many golfers make the mistake of thinking that if they pick up the biggest, baddest-looking putter off the rack, they’ll start sinking 30-footers!

Here’s a fun fact the PGA TOUR average is 1.6 putts per hole, that’s just 28.8 putts per round. Where do you stack up against the pros? If you’re coming up a little short…or long, we’re here to help you with a few tips on what to look for in a putter and how to find a new moneymaker that’ll actually help you to sink more putts!

HOW TO PERMANENTLY LOWER YOUR SCORES

There’s a sure-fire way to significantly lower your putting average and that’s with an in-person, custom putter fitting with a PXG Fitting Specialist.

PXG putters are 100% milled, available in nine different head shapes, and multiple hosels.

Each putter is crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum, features high-density tungsten inserts to enhance stability and boost MOI (moment of inertia = forgiveness). Safe to say, a Battle Ready Putter will back you when you need it most.

To truly optimize your performance on the greens, we recommend a putter fitting experience so that you and your fitter can find the best putter to suit your stroke.

HOW TO FIT YOURSELF FOR A PXG BATTLE READY PUTTER

To help you find the ideal PXG Battle Ready Putter for your game, we’ve created some short fitting videos to guide you to the optimal configuration and explain some fitting terms that you may not be as familiar with. These fitting videos are designed to help you select and configure your ideal head shape, hosel style, loft, lie, shaft length, grip, and weighting. No matter your putting style, our high-performance Battle Ready Putters will help you take control on the green.

1. CHOOSE DEXTERITY

Right handers – select right-handed putter. Lefties – select a left-handed putter.

If you’re not sure about this step, we highly recommend you call us at 1.844.FIT.4PXG before going any further!

2. MALLET OR BLADE? CHOOSE A HEAD TYPE

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to putters. Our fitters would always recommend that you choose your putter style based on looks. If you like what you see as you address the ball, it’s amazing what that does for your confidence on the greens.

We have some quick videos below that introduce you to our Battle Ready Putter head types. And if you’re looking for a little more information, learn the differences between blade and mallet putters.

3. CHOOSE A HOSEL

There’s a science to selecting your putter hosel. Check out this handy video with Senior R&D Engineer Caleb Kroloff as he walks you through various hosel styles to help you understand which may be more suited to your putting stroke.

4. CONFIGURE SHAFT LENGTH

Spine angle and hand position in a putting stroke are heavily influenced by the length of the putter. A proper length putter will fit comfortably in the hands at setup and allow for a natural and free-flowing putting stroke. PXG’s standard putter length is 34”.

5. CONFIGURE LOFT

6. CONFIGURE LIE

7. CONFIGURE GRIP

PXG PERFORMANCE GRIPS

  • Sink Fit Skinny is a small pistol grip made of rubber for a very traditional feel.
  • Sink Fit Pistol is a large, rubber pistol grip. The large rubber grip may benefit players who prefer a heavier overall putter weight.

SUPERSTROKE GRIPS

  • Flatso 1.0 is a medium size grip featuring a wide, flat front shape with a no taper design.
  • Flatso 2.0 is a medium-large size grip featuring a wide, flat front shape with a no taper design.
  • Flatso 3.0 is a large size grip featuring a wide, flat front shape with a no taper design
  • Mid Slim 2.0 is a medium-large size grip featuring a rounder profile and subtle flat front compared to other SuperStroke options.
  • Pistol 1.0 is a medium size grip with a flat front like the Flatso, but with a pistol-style top section
  • XL+ 2.0 0 is a medium size grip featuring a rounder profile and subtle flat front compared to other SuperStroke options. XL+ is a longer grip option for players who prefer to choke down.
  • Slim 3.0 is a large size grip featuring a rounder profile and subtle flat front compared to other SuperStroke options.
  • Fatso 5.0 is an extra-large size grip featuring a rounder profile and subtle flat front compared to other SuperStroke options.

8. WEIGHTING AND BALANCE

Battle Ready Putters come standard with a stock head weight that’s dependent upon the model and hosel you choose. By adding a PXG Weight Kit to your order, you may adjust the head weight of your putter down by at least -15g or up by at least +20g.
