This article is part of a series dedicated to our #PXGTroops and their love of the game. Each one of these stories is just one example of what inspires us to continue making some of the world’s finest golf equipment.
DO YOU
We’ve all tried to emulate the swings and swagger of our favorite tour professionals. From Zach Johnson’s effortless short game to Wyndham Clark’s powerful drives to Ryan Moore’s signature body wiggle before settling over a putt, we’ve tried to put ourselves in their metaphorical shoes. Try as we might, our swings are our own.
Working to be someone you’re not … not on our watch. Adjusting your game to meet the requirements of your equipment … hell no. PXG encourages you to celebrate your individuality with equipment that lets you do you.
We caught up with a few of our #PXGTroops to show you just how different our players are, and their bags can be.
BREAKING 80
Standing over a tour blade is not for the faint of heart, but for Chris Vasso there is nothing more beautiful. The proud owner of PXG 0311 T GEN3 Irons since December of 2019, Chris’ goal of besting himself on the golf course is no longer a pipe dream.
“The very first round I played them, on hole number one, I stuck my PXG 6-Iron 8-feet from the pin. My playing partner looked at me and said, ‘Whatever you paid for them, looks like you got the results you wanted!’ Since then I’ve cut my handicap almost in half and broke 80 for the first time thanks to PXG!”
What’s in Chris’ Bag?

HANDICAP DOWN. ENJOYMENT UP.
Like Chris, Matt Fehringer is a spirited competitor on the golf course and loyal PXG Troop. Matt first fell in love with PXG clubs after hitting GEN1 Irons. From that day forward there was no turning back. Today, he has PXG’s latest technology in play. “I take golf very seriously and these clubs have greatly improved my game. I demand the best out of myself and expect that from my golf equipment as well.”
Since adding PXG clubs to his bag Matt has seen his handicap plummet. Playing to a 3.9, he is well on his way to scratch!
So, what is Matt’s current setup?

During a recent trip to Dismal River Golf Club, Matt holed out for eagle from 140 yards with his GEN3 Pitching Wedge on the 7th hole on the Nicklaus White Course. His father, father-in-law, and brother-in-law were all witnesses to the epic shot, making it that much sweeter and motivating the others to switch to PXG.
MADE FOR ME
For Tori Branch golf is just like life, “one shot at a time.” After one particularly unfair shot, Tori’s aspirations of playing at the highest level came to a screeching halt. A horrible accident nearly cost Tori her foot and any chance she had at moving forward in Q School. It has taken Tori two-and-a-half years just to walk, let alone swing a golf club.
But Tori isn’t resigning her clubs to the attic. She is boldly stepping up to the tee box and not taking anything for granted. “There are only two kinds of golfers, those who are humble and those who are about to be.”
Intrigued by PXG as a club fitter and player, Tori loves that PXG’s golf clubs are not mass produced or available off the shelf.
So, what are Tori’s go-to PXG clubs?
- PXG 0811 XF GEN2 Driver, 10.5° with Aldila Orange 53g Shaft -1/2”
- PXG 0311 XF GEN2 Irons, 1° upright with MCA Graphite Shafts, Regular Flex and Iomic 1.8 Sticky Grips
TYING EVERYTHING TOGETHER
“I have had a number of sets of golf clubs purpose built and fitted for me but I have never been able to identify a brand that could provide me with the look, quality, feel, sound, distance and tight dispersion I was looking for right across the bag.”
Enter PXG.
Stuart McConnachie is an avid golfer who finds the occasion to play no matter where his travels take him – the U.S., Japan, U.K. “I have been fortunate to live, work, and travel all over the world with my career. My golf clubs have always travelled with me and I have had memberships at several international golf clubs and enjoyed playing many more. I have made so many friendships as a consequence.”
Those friendships now extend to include several of PXG’s Fitting Specialists who have helped Stuart build two sets of PXG golf clubs. “I now have the perfect combination in my bag for general play and another set for competition play, also used for playing links golf.”
